Why Study with Amara?

Dr. Laura (Amara Dances) Osweiler is an International Dance Instructor, Performer, Choreographer, Producer & Scholar with over 25 years of experience.

Her mission is to bring dance and movement into everyday life as a source of creativity, joy & wellbeing.

Amara teaches students ranging from 5 – 96 years old & from very beginners to seasoned professionals (including some of her own dance teachers).

She is passionate about sharing how dance brings together the body, mind, spirit, emotion, creativity & community into one activity.

Amara wants students to have fun while learning how dance & their body works at this moment in time. And for students to discover the power & knowledge that is within their body.

Amara brings compassion. She understands that sometimes we come feeling strong & beautiful and other times, just showing up is a WIN!

She knows from personal experience & speaking with students, we always feel better at the end of class than at the beginning.

And as an artist who works in Crip Time, Amara is aware of the need we need flexibility in our lives. And so, she teaches online weekly classes & has video libraries that are watchable all the time.

At the beginning of class, Amara asks each person what they want to work on. She then adjusts each class to address those issues. Amara’s Bellates class has saved me a fortune in chiropractic bills. My chiropractor was frustrated that I was so tight that it was harder for him to do the adjustments. One day he said I needed to do flexibility exercises. So, I started taking Amara’s stretching and flexibility class. I am able to release the tension in my lower back so that I don’t need to go to the chiropractor as often. Class is fun and makes you feel so much better.
